Spring News

A range of my collaborative signature cloths are shown in a textile exhibition Construct at Ruthin Craft Centre til July. It links to the forthcoming show I am curating at the IQSC in Lincoln, Nebraska from Sept 2014 – May 2015.

I am returning to West Dean July 13-15th  to run a kantha workshop.

“On my Mother’s knee” the exhibition that was on at LLantarnam Grange in Cwmbran, St David’s Rd, Pembrokeshire featuring two of my cloths is due to tour shortly.

December saw the tenth anniversary celebrations for Rainbow Haven, the refugee and asylum seekers project in East Manchester. I went along briefly to join the celebrations and am very glad I did. Seeing the cloth (we made together) on display centre stage brought it home to me  how important making and the visual can be in bringing people together.

My practice-based ph.D began at the UCA in 2013. It explores embroidery in relation to socially engaged art and my role as  an artist working with marginalised groups.
