This recent signature cloth marks the centenary of the death of Emily Wilding Davison at the Epsom Derby in June 1913 and pays homage to the banner on display in the Museum of London, made up of the sewn signatures of suffragettes imprisoned in Holloway in 1911. It is part of the www.100deeds.co.uk.

Emily Complete

See my Remembering Emily post for background information. This cloth was part of the Wilding Festival on the 15th June at St George’s in Bloomsbury where Emily’s memorial service had been held. It was carried in the procession by her descendent and draped in the church where her coffin had stood 100 years ago. Thanks to Sarah Evans @ artwithaheart
