The Wit of the Stitch

From July til late Sept 2016 new work can be seen in the Wit of the Stitch at Ruthin Craft Centre, North Wales curated by June Hill. The exhibition includes new work –  a stitched sampler created in the car park at the Crafts Centre celebrating the work of early Welsh poet Tudur Aled.  Aled’s words sewn into the ground at Ruthin (in Welsh) are one of the earliest mentions of the word sampler dating back to the fifteenth century. There is also a new series of stitched portraits depicting famous introverts and a hand sewn blog/blanket documenting three hundred and sixty-four days (a word a day) related to my practice-based PhD .
